The Minnesota Twins have sent 24-year old righty swinging catcher John Ryan Murphy to AAA. Murphy played in 11 games for the Twins this year and he was only 3 for 40 (.075 avg, .219 OPS) with o runs scored, 0 homers and 0 RBIs. He did have one double this year, which was his only extra base hit. Murphy has played in 126 games in his first four years in the show and he is 73 of 302 (.242 avg, .624 OPS) with 31 runs scored, 4 homers and 24 RBIs. The Twins have called up 26-year old lefty swinging catcher Juan Centeno to replace Murphy as Kurt Suzuki’s backup. Centeno has played in 15 games in AAA-ball for the Twins so far this year and he was 12 of 49 (.245 avg, .641 OPS) with 5 runs scored, 1 homer, 5 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Centeno has played in 24 games in his first three years in the show and he is 10 for 61 (.164 avg, .408 OPS) with 1 run scored, 0 homers and 3 RBIs. Murphy could get a shot later on in 2016 as long as he plays well in AAA.
