The Minnesota Twins are calling up 21-year old righty starting pitcher Jose Berrios and 22-year old switch-hitting infielder Jorge Polanco.  Berrios came into this season as the Twins’ #2 prospect according to Baseball America.  Berrios pitched in 3 games (all starts) in AAA-ball for the Twins this year and he is 2-0 with a 1.06 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP.  He has only given up 8 hits and 8 walks while whiffing 20 batters in his first 17 innings, which is impressive.  Berrios has now pitched in 85 games (78 starts) in his first four years in the minors and he is 38-20 with a 2.91 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP.  He will make his Major League debut against the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.  Polanco came into this season as the Twins’ #6 prospect according to Baseball America.  Polanco played in 4 games earlier this year for the Twins and he was 1 for 6 (.167 avg, .583 OPS) with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Polanco has now played in 13 games in his first three years with the Twins and he is 6 for 22 (.273 avg, .847 OPS) with 4 runs scored, 0 homers, 5 RBIs and 1 stolen base.  The Twins hope that these two guys inject some injury into a team that almost looks like it’s just going through the motions so far in 2016.
