The Minnesota Twins have dealt 29-year old righty swinging infielder Eduardo Nunez to the San Francisco Giants for 23-year old lefty starting pitcher Adalberto Mejia.  Nunez was the Twins’ lone All-Star this year.  He played in 91 games for the Twins this year and he was 110 of 371 (.296 avg, .764 OPS) with 49 runs scored, 12 homers, 47 RBIs and an American League leading 27 stolen bases.  Nunez played in 235 games in his three years with the Twins and he was 214 of 763 (.280 avg, .733 OPS) with 98 runs scored, 20 homers, 91 RBIs and 44 stolen bases.  Mejia was a good get for the Twins.  He came into this season as the Giants’ #10 prospect according to Baseball America.  Mejia pitched in 18 games (all starts) in AA+AAA-ball for the Giants this year and he was 7-3 with a 2.81 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP.  He gave up 90 hits and 27 walks while whiffing 101 batters in his 105 2/3 innings so far this year in the minors for the Giants.  Mejia has now pitched in 112 games (92 starts) in his first six years in the minors and he is 41-27 with a 3.27 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP.  Mejia could join the Twins’ rotation at some point this year.  He has a good upside.
